I have fond memories from elementary school of my mom pulling me off campus to get Carl's Jr. during our lunch break, but that was before I knew how the company treats animals. As a Californian, I am proud to live in a state where the majority of voters demand the ban of cruel cages in factory farms. I am confident you agree that animals do not belong in cages. And this includes hens who are victims of the egg industry. 

Egg-laying hens suffer in dirty, wire, cramped cages where they cannot stretch their wings,  forage, or clean themselves. These are basic and natural behaviors of hens and they do not have the room to do them.

Carl's Jr. profits from hens living in a distressed and constricted environment. Hens ache from excessive egg laying, suffer from bone fractures, sting from foot lacerations caused by the wire cage floors, and sometimes even starve to death when they are trapped in cages.

I respectfully urge Carl’s Jr. to publicly report their cage-free egg progress, fulfill their 100% cage-free commitment by 2025, and free hens from cages nationally, in every state it operates in. 

Carl’s Jr. has about 62% of their restaurants in California. Why is going 100% cage-free nationally an issue?
