ELDER ABUSE

ELDER ABUSE
The Issue
Elder abuse is as a single or repeated act or lack of appropriate action, occurring within any relationship where there is an expectation of trust which causes harm or distress to an older person. These include physical, financial, and psychological forms of abuse and neglect. Elder abuse, which will often but not always constitute a crime, can be perpetrated by a family member, a friend, or a service provider. This is a significant concern, and it is essential that our society begins to pay attention
to this issue. This bibliography will explore various publications regards to elder abuse and its effects on the community and possible steps aimed at to prevent it.
