CARE WITHOUT BORDERS: Advocating for Universal Healthcare in The Philippines

Many individuals in the remote and underserved areas in the Philippines encounter issues such as inaccessible essential healthcare services. The inadequate infrastructure interferes with the prevention and treatment of diseases, maternal health being attended, and overall poor health outcomes. These issues emphasize the urgent need for the accessibility of healthcare for all Filipinos no matter where they are.

The Aeris Foundation, through this campaign entitled Care Without Borders, desires to address these issues by establishing mobile healthcare clinics that have adequate tools and staff to provide services to remote communities. By bridging the gap between resources and those in need, we aim to foster a healthier population, reduce casualties in the prevention and treatment of diseases, and create a lasting impact.

Think of all the Filipinos, in underserved and remote areas, children, elderly, and pregnant women, without access to essential healthcare.  Our advocacy and campaign “Care Without Borders” aims to address this issue.

What is at stake?

Thousands of people are marginalized by the current healthcare system in The Philippines. Due to this, many people’s health and survival are at stake and in danger. Illnesses that are easily preventable or cured continue to reap lives in these underserved areas. Additionally, the gap between rich and poor continuously widens, due to a lack of significant resources and limited opportunities, especially in the healthcare industry. We aim to make a change.

Why should YOU act NOW?

This is an urgent issue and more delays will prolong the issues plaguing our healthcare system. This will lead to more long-term damage to these communities who are already vulnerable. Taking actions now will address these issues more effectively and quickly before they become bigger issues and apply even more burden on our country.
