Dear OLMC Parishioners -
4th Ward Councilwoman Renee Baskerville is requesting
Volunteers from Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church for the
EARTH DAY CELEBRATION
Beautification Project
SUNDAY, APRIL 22, 2018
Pine Street (where our church is located) has been selected for community beautification project!
OLMC parishioners’ participation in this project would be a wonderful opportunity to show our support for the Montclair Township.
For additional information & volunteer opportunities, registration and general orientation please see attachments provided.
Earth Day Celebration
Program:
1. Registration: Volunteers will fill the registration form and will receive their T-Shirt and printed instructions about their crew and the tasks that they need to accomplish.
2. General orientation: Safety measures regarding the work that crews will be doing in three locations: Bay Street Station/Glenridge Avenue; Pine Street and Crane Park.
3. Tasks to be accomplished in Crane Park:
a) Setting up tables with environmental materials and handouts.
b) Raking the lawn before aeration is done.
c) Bagging trash and debris to be collected by the township.
d) Weeding and deadheading of flower beds.
e) Planting of new flowers.
f) Serving food and refreshments to the volunteers.
g) Providing music to attendees and volunteers.
h) Coordinators: David Wasmuth, Greg Pason and Jose German
4. Tasks to be accomplished in Pine Street:
a) Setting up tables with environmental materials and handouts.
b) Street cleanup (curb and sidewalks)
c) Bagging of the trash as well as debris and materials to be recycled.
d) Planting of flowers around selected trees.
e) Mulching of the planted areas.
f) Serving food and refreshments for volunteers.
g) Providing music to attendees and volunteers.
h) Pine Street, Coordinators: Mary Zee, Trina Paulus and Greg Pason.
5. Tasks to be accomplished in Glenridge Avenue:
a) Street Cleanup
b) Bagging of the trash/debris and the materials to be recycled.
c) Planting of flowers around selected trees.
d) Mulching of the planted areas.
e) Coordinator: Jose German
6. Tasks to be accomplished at Bay Street Train Station:
a) Collection of trash and recyclables
b) Bagging of materials to be refused and recycled.
c) Coordinator: Jose German
7. Gathering of all volunteers at 73 Pine Street.

CELEBRATION
Neighbors and volunteers of the Fourth Ward’s north end will gather at 11am at 73 See Gallery, 73 Pine Street Montclair, NJ 07042 to celebrate Earth Day with community beautification projects. We will move to three locations: East side of Bay St Train Station, Pine Street, and Crane Park. Food and refreshments will be served.
