Announced in an email to students, Cardiff Univeristy Residences introduced an array of new COVID-19 student regulations that seek to unfairly intimidate and control the day-to-day lives of students in University Halls. 

Students have been subjected to a number of policies that permit the unscheduled introduction of security spot-checks; the erection of new and increased CCTV presence; the banning of all communal gatherings in flat groups larger than four; and the encouragement to report on other students.

Should students not follow these measures, they will be threatened with eviction from their University Halls. 

These policies are an infringement of student privacy; and have been drawn up without any consideration of the wellbeing and mental health of Cardiff's student population. They are unjust, unfair and must be scrapped immediately.
