Keep German in the curriculum at Cardiff high school
The Issue
Cardiff High School has a new plan to stop teaching German in KS3 starting with the soon to join year 7s. Rather than teaching half the French and half German they propose to teach all French. German has been in the curriculum for a long time and has been loved by many. Discontinuing this starting with The next set of year 7s would not be beneficial to anyone. The leading high school in Cardiff, the capitol city of Wales, should teach more than one modern foreign language in KS3. It would be wise for them to remain teaching half the year German and half French. They have already removed A Level German and have only put it in one GCSE column unlike French which is in 2. Cardiff high school should not be getting rid of such a useful modern language and should continue to allow pupils to learn it.
