The Transport Club (located on Tudor Street, Riverside), recently closed and the building has been purchased by Cardiff Council. The building is in good condition and has spaces which could be of huge benefit to the community. This building would make a fantastic community centre, which would have a hugely beneficial impact on Riverside and Cardiff in general.

Minimal work would be needed to make the Transport Club a suitable community centre and there are many local-residents willing to help run the centre which means it would be of minimal cost to the council.

Cathays Youth and Community Centre on the other side of town is a perfect example of what the Transport Club could become.  The centre could take inspiration from CYCC and offer services such as a community fridge and be a place for young people to get involved in positive initiatives such as performing arts. There's even a music venue upstairs, which would be perfect for live performances and rehearsals.

We would urge the council to make the Transport Club a community centre.
