Currently, we face a double lottery system that requires participants to expend unnecessary time and resources to secure a slot. This means waking up as early as 7 AM, wasting 30 minutes to an hour traveling, and incurring a $2 travel fee. A second in-person lottery to fill unclaimed slots burdens individuals who have to make another journey just for a chance to participate.

We propose a shift to an online lottery system for a waitlist before the day itself that can effectively and efficiently distribute unclaimed slots without the issues associated with physical presence or a first come first serve walk-in. This not only ensures the fairness and inclusivity of the process but also significantly reduces the inconvenience of unnecessary trips.
