Sky News is now the only major news channel or organisation not to manually caption its social media content, shutting out deaf and disabled people from accessing news reports on the most important stories of the day.

But it’s not just disabled people who benefit from captioned content. Many of us watch social media videos with the sound off for one reason or another, so we all stand to benefit from accessibility.

Channel 4 News, BBC News, ITV News and 5 News all caption their content. It’s time for Sky News to follow suit. It’s time for Sky News to #CaptionTheNews.
