"Two weeks after a Black man’s body was found hanging from a tree near the Victorville City Library, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said Saturday that foul play was not suspected in his death.

The department also said that the investigation into the death of Malcolm Harsch, 38, is ongoing, according to a report in the Victor Valley News.

“There were no indications at the scene that suggested foul play; however, the cause and manner of death are still pending,” Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Jodi Miller told the news outlet.

The Victorville Fire Department discovered Harsch’s body May 31 after receiving a dispatch call around 7 a.m., officials said. When firefighters arrived at the library, they found Harsch hanging from a tree."

Malcolm Harsch, was found hung from a tree outside of the library in Victorville. Police have stated this man committed suicide, but this is another clear case of murder. Malcolm was targeted by White Supremacists and lynched, simply for being a Black man. With all of the racial injustices, police brutality, blatant racial attacks on the Black Lives Matter movement and protestors defending and supporting the equality and safety of our Black brothers and sisters; it is evident this innocent man was murdered. This disgusting hate crime took place just 50 miles away and two weeks prior to Robert Fuller being lynched in Palmdale, also ruled a suicide. We demand the Victorville Police Department do a thorough and transparent investigation, including any and all video surveillance from the library and surrounding buildings/areas.

Malcolm Harsch and his family deserve justice and for the persons responsible to be found and charged with a hate crime and murder. This cannot be swept under the rug.
