We the undersigned concerned workers in the Shipping industry are calling the Maldives State Trading Organization, Ministry of Transport and Communication-Maldives, Maldives Police Service, to initiate a coronial inquest into the death of Welder Adam Qasim. And also we call other Decision makers of the State, to bring the responsible person(s) to justice after investigation.

We believe the State Trading Organization’s (STO’s) news report, which was released on 4th March 2014 does not address all concerns or hold any persons or organizations to account for this tragic loss of life. Kindly click here to view latest news update regarding the case.

We strongly feel that Adam Qasim’s family and the extended maritime and local shipping community should be given a closure with a proper third party investigation to ensure that this kind of tragedy does not happen in future.

I subscribe my name in full support of a coronial investigation into the tragic fatality of Adam Qasim 61y from Haa Dhaal atoll Kulhudhuhfushi who had been 80% burnt to death in MT Alihuras on the 4th March 2014.
