Reverse decision banning BYOB at Yards Park Concert Series

Reverse decision banning BYOB at Yards Park Concert Series
Why this petition matters

Since 2011, the Friday Night Summer Concert Series at Yards Park has been popular with D.C. residents of all ages. Some people pack a picnic, others stop at local breweries and retailers to pick up food, beer and wine on their way. All come to enjoy a casual, fun evening on the riverfront with friends and neighbors.
But no more.
The Capitol Riverfront BID has made the decision to ban concert goers from bringing their own beer (BYOB) or wine to the event. Instead, the concerts will be now be exclusively sponsored by Corona and Modelo and all will be required to purchase beer and wine from them. Backpacks and coolers will be searched.
"In order to maintain the beauty of Yards Park, reduce its environmental footprint, and provide a clean and safe environment for all to enjoy, no outside alcoholic beverages may be brought into the premises, and security officers reserve the right to inspect all items brought into Yards Park, including coolers."
Please take a minute and tell the Capitol Riverfront BID to reverse this decision. Not only will this decision negatively impact this very popular community event, it will hurt the local brewers and surrounding business frequented by concert goers.
