College prices and student debt are some of the most debated topics today. There are many suggestions out there, such as canceling student debt, that politicians have proposed to solve this issue. While these solutions would have an impact, they fail to consider the root cause of the issue, increasing college prices. Inflation of college tuition prices have beaten EVERY other industry for the last 20 years. These crazy tuition prices are the main leading cause of the ballooning student debt crisis. Instead of a short-term solution such as canceling student loans, we suggest limiting tuition increases to 3% each year. This cap would prevent long-term inflation of college prices and would slowly contain the student debt crisis. This petition will help influence state and federal politicians to consider signing in a bill that will make this solution possible.
