Last night the Canyons School District Board met and once again ignored the concerns that parents and teachers have about in-person learning.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5UkDfjHIaM

Their decisions are being made based on surveys held prior to the explosion of Covid19 cases, they have yet to send out any further surveys.

In the video, you see that most of the district officials are handling the meeting remotely, while they expect children and teachers to put their lives at risk in less than a month's time, and several of the board members were either not wearing masks, or wearing them inappropriately. This fails to set an appropriate example for students, teachers, or parents.

As a whole, our state is failing our teachers, children, and communities by rushing into opening schools back up prematurely. In March, our schools were closed with only a handful of cases in our state, yet, here we are, with hospitals nearly full, talking about re-opening. This tone-deaf plan puts all of us in jeopardy.
