Having now reviewed progress, we realise it's ten months since being moved to Canterbury and just over a year since East Kent Housing promised to check that Armando would be able to get planning permission in his new accommodation before moving in. We think the council must provide accommodation that meets his needs from what we read about the UK Planning System. This has always been his request. Unfortunately his attempt to get planning permission here, has now resulted in a fairly resounding "no". De ja Vu. The first time EKH involved themselves in moving, he was careful to ask could he take his antenna with him. It was "yes" then too. Unfortunately this was rapidly followed by a "no" under control of his nightmare neighbours. So what happens now EKH? Another move? At a meeting today we highlighted the poor standards of public service that led to these results. One of the factors that led to the recent NO decision was that the next door neighbour might be able to see the antenna from her back door (although there was no complaint). We pointed out regardless of its height it was pretty well screened by a thicket hedge between the properties (that conveniently nobody from the council saw in their numerous visits). You can see the report that was upheld here. https://tinyurl.com/yboxkuqo (Nothing we said was used to make the decision - a point we will be making in the coming days). Believe it or not, as we dropped Armando off after our meeting today there was a whole host of council workers just about to leave with the thicket hedge in their trucks - fully exposing the site. We find this strange considering it was a very effective screen and highly desirable if Armando's quest for planning permission were to succeed. We think it might be a coincidence, but judging by the whole experience we also think somebody at a high level doesn't want Armando to have this. Over the next few days we will be setting out the whole planning experience as part of an action plan going forward. In the mean time thank you, our petition has gathered forty thousand entries. This was something the council rubbished, along with our report stating the number of radio amateurs in Armando's area, and the various types of Antenna in the vicinity, larger, or similar in size to his proposal. Thank you, please keep sharing and asking people to sign our petition if they haven't already done so. We will be taking it to the next level over the next few weeks as we sense Armando is not being taken seriously. Also his stress levels are quite high but he is determined to continue. Best Wishes, Stuart Dixon, Mac MacDonald and Armando Martins
