The Issue

Right now in Herne bay, Kent, there is a serious lack of areas for young and upcoming skateboarders/scooters and other small wheeled sports participants to actually practice.

Herne bay is a lovely seaside town with an already amazing community spirit! But with the sport of skateboarding becoming more and more popular there is not many places for people to learn and evolve their skills, without having to travel out of town to do so. This can be quite the problem for youngsters and people that simply cannot afford to travel to the next towns for the day to practice!

I hope that with this petition, we will be able to change the tides and have some sort of park put together and built for the residents of Herne bay. Also being that Skateboarding is and has been a recognized Olympic sport for some time now, even more of a reason to have something built to give people the opportunity to progress their skills in said sport!

Not only will this give participants in the sports somewhere to progress and meet others, but this also provides entertainment and further community spirit! Not to mention it will stop people skating walls and other public areas of which we are being turned away from for skating already, leaving us with nowhere to do so.
