Canon has changed the design of the hot shoe on at least their R5 and R6 camera models. Over a very short period of time (18 months or less from the purchase date) the hot shoe becomes incredibly loose causing attached flashes to wobble, loose contact with the hot shoe, and eventually completely fall off the body of the camera. 

We in the photo community have been sharing our experience with this problem for the last few months, and believe that this is a product defect that should be addressed. 

This petition has been made to document and consolidate our experiences in order to prove there is a chronic design flaw that prevents us from using one of the most common accessories for a camera - a hot shoe mounted flash. 

As photographers, we have invested thousands and thousands of dollars and put our trust in the canon company and ecosystem. This issue is unacceptable and must be addressed. I myself, the author of this petition, have sent both my R6 bodies to canon to be fixed during one of the busiest seasons of my life - a time when I should not be without a camera. 

Canon has a reputation of being the most trusted brand in professional photo and video. Please do the right thing and address this issue.
