385 Strong — Thank You for Standing Up for Canobie Lake

Dear Friends and Supporters,

When we launched this petition just days ago, we hoped it would strike a chord with our neighbors. Your response has been nothing short of incredible.

Over 385 of you have signed — from Windham and Salem, to Manchester, Londonderry, Exeter, Rochester, and more than 100 towns and cities across New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and beyond. We even heard from supporters as far away as Belgium. That kind of reach tells us something important: people understand what's at stake when a community's natural resources are mismanaged in silence.

Most meaningful of all: the single largest group of signatories comes from right here in Windham. Nearly one in five signatures is from a Windham resident — the very community with the most at stake as the largest group of lakefront property owners on Canobie Lake. This is our neighbors speaking up for our lake.

Canobie Lake deserves better than silence — and so do you.

Your signatures are sending a clear message to the Windham Board of Selectmen: residents deserve transparency about how much water Salem is drawing from the lake, when pumping begins, and what protections are actually in place. The Board acted for Cobbetts Pond. We are asking them to bring that same commitment to Canobie Lake.
