Much as I hate to say so, we have reached a stopping point for the Sterling Drain Relief Project. Candice Miller made the announcement via Facebook today that the park improvement part of the project will not be pursued in light of the opposition from nearby residents and the concerns expressed the other night by City Council. You win some and you lose some with these political efforts. I have been on both sides of that, riding high when coming in on the winning side, and feeling low when losing. Alas, this is more the latter than the former, but that's the way it goes. Could we see something like this in the future? It's hard to say, but I don't think the final chapter has been written. For right now, we've proven there is a substantial group of people who would be in favor of something like this. These things take time, but if the interest is genuine, this could come back. Thank you for your support. To those from the opposing side who were kind enough to share their thoughts with me, I appreciate the civility and candor, and I hope that we find ourselves more in alignment on future issues. Have a great evening, everyone! --Geoff
