The Issue
Cancer patients are being denied the treatment they need. It's not just unacceptable, it's immoral. We have to do better than this. This is why we need reform in our health care system. Cancer patients should not be denied life-saving treatments because of cost or lack of staff available. We need to make sure that everyone has access to the best possible care, regardless of their income or insurance status.
We refuse to let your health suffer any longer. We need to save lives from cancer unnecessarily progressing due to lack of care. The government must take immediate action to improve cancer care in the NHS. We are calling on the government to
- invest in cancer services
- reduce waiting times for diagnosis and treatment
- improve access to cancer drugs
- provide better support for cancer patients and their families
- increase research funding
- Streamline management IT systems to organize across all the trusts a stronger admin platform and booking system
As a cancer patient, myself, who is now in remission, the injustice of seeing my friend who is a single Mother, suffering has caused me to fight back. There are people out there who need help and deserve urgent treatment.
This woman is fighting for her life, but instead, she gets the silent treatment from those that should be caring about how their actions affect others. Appointments have been cancelled for her, multiple misdiagnoses were given, and still, no treatment or even seen her oncologist in over 3 months later, even though she has one of the most aggressive forms of Melanoma, which has now spread to distant parts of her body. I personally had to read her PET scan, which confirmed the spread of the disease and I am not a Doctor! Her results were in weeks ago and she still hasn't had a call to be advised of her diagnosis. This could have been avoided if the protocols of care and treatment were actioned before it got this far.
This is a matter of life and death. We cannot wait any longer. Please join us in calling on the government to take action on the cancer care crisis in the NHS.
