The Academy Awards let Will Smith assault Chris Rock with no repercussions. Security did not stop and let that psychopath stay in the facility after he assaulted Chris Rock on national television.
Will Smith stayed and laughed throughout the night and the Academy Awards still gave him an award and everyone in the audience applauded Will like he was the victim.
Chris Rock is a human being / comedian / actor. Chris Rock's job is to come out and make jokes.
No reason for Chris Rock to be assaulted for doing his job.
