Le problème

On September 27, 2024, TiMi Studios announced the end of services for Pokémon UNITE on November 30, 2025 in Belgium and the Netherlands on Nintendo Switch, Android and iOS.

While no official reason is given by TiMi Studios, the player community speculates that this is due to the legislation of these two countries regarding loot boxes and gacha mechanics which are prohibited in Belgium and the Netherlands.

However, these countries do not ban the game if the developer adapts its game for players residing in these territories.

This is why the gaming community is calling on TiMi Studios to reconsider its decision to close Pokémon UNITE in Belgium and the Netherlands.

On October 31, 2024, TiMi Studios will end the purchase of Aeos Gems and Subscriptions.
In order for Pokémon UNITE to be legal under Belgian and Dutch law, TiMi Studios simply needs to block any gacha mechanics that require money.
Aeos Gems and Subscriptions can even remain accessible to Belgian players because they are not linked to a game of chance, thus ensuring that TiMi Studios can continue to receive a source of income from the Belgian and Dutch player community while being in compliance in these territories.

As a result, players residing in Belgium and the Netherlands could still have access to Pokémon UNITE.

TiMi Studios must realize that Pokémon UNITE has been available in these countries for 3 years now.
3 years of investment of time but especially money for some players who lose absolutely everything.

Belgian and Dutch players are attached to Pokémon UNITE, its gameplay, their Pokémon but also to their community, to the friends they made on this game.
We cannot lose everything when a simple adaptation could solve the problem.

In advance, we thank TiMi Studios and the publisher Tencent for reviewing their decision out of respect for the Belgian and Dutch Pokémon UNITE community.
