The Issue

Parents of Tuscaloosa County Schools should not be liable for school owned iPads; these devices were wanted by the school system to streamline their processes and procedures.  Parents did not ask for this and many do not support their use.

There are over 19,000 students in the TCSS and each one is assigned a school owned iPad. $50 Annually per student (that’s $950,000/year) is charged for insurance OR families take the risk of it being damaged and being responsible for $300 cost to repair. This is astronomical for a large majority of families who already struggle to purchase supplies and clothing, as well as pay other class fees. Not to mention families with 2 or more students enrolled in K-12!

Please let your voice be heard and let TCSS know parents should not be solely liable for devices while the school system solely benefits!
