Cancel Southern Ontario classes on February 13th and 14th, 2025

Cancel Southern Ontario classes on February 13th and 14th, 2025
The Issue
We require that all schools, universities and colleges in southern Ontario be cancelled tomorrow, February 13th, and February 14th, 2025 due to safety and equity concerns. First and foremost, we cannot have students and faculty navigating treacherous blizzard conditions trying to get to class. The dangerous conditions pose a very serious risk to anyone who has to go outside, possibly leading to injury or in some cases even death. Many people depend on highways and transit to get to class, both of which regularly shut down during snowstorms. This means only Uber and the 407 are left as transportation options, but they are operated by greedy corporations whom we cannot be giving our hard earned money to at this time (#PeopleOverProfits).
Desperate times call for desperate measures. Firstly, we need to cancel all classes in all southern Ontario schools and post secondary institutions so that we have time to enact our plan. Doing so guarantees we can enact our plan swiftly and safely so we can restore Ontario to the state it was previously in (before the unsolicited snowstorm).
Our Save Ontario Action Plan (SOAP) consists of the following:
As soon as all schools, colleges and universities are closed, we immediately appoint a snow czar tasked with deporting all the snow out of southern Ontario. The snow can be deported to Quebec so they can build their annual “bonhomme”. Any ice found by ICE can also be deported to Boston and Montreal, as they are so far down the NHL standings one has to wonder if they actually have any ice available. Once we have removed all the snow and ice, we must immediately threaten to impose 25% tariffs on all clouds, as recent history has shown that doing so prompts immediate action from the party being tariffed. Following the SOAP guarantees a safer, more equitable Ontario for all.
We ask that the government doesn’t drop the SOAP as that would be quite the pain in the rear end for all those involved.
Please sign and share if you believe in a safer Ontario that is more well equipped to fight these kinds of treacherous weather conditions.
