Cancel "Namo Seva: Ajana Kahini" series
The Issue

We are raising serious concerns over the forced participation of students in “Namo Seva: Ajana Kahini”, a play centred on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
participation in the play is being treated as compulsory, while those who object have reportedly been threatened with consequences to their internal marks and targeted for speaking up. The script was sent to students for use, was reportedly AI-generated, and actively pushes the portrayal of an elected political leader as a deity.
A government supplied script promoting the glorification of an elected political leader has no place in an educational institution. Students should not be forced to participate in political content they do not agree with, especially under the threat of academic consequences.
We therefore demand:
• The complete cancellation of “Namo Seva: Ajana Kahini”.
• An immediate end to threats, intimidation and academic retaliation against students who oppose the programme.
• A clear explanation from the concerned authorities regarding the source and purpose of the script and why it was sent to students for use.
Educational institutions should encourage students to question, debate and think critically, not compel them to participate in the glorification of political leaders.
Cancel the event. Stop academic threats. Let students speak and say no without fear.
