Dear supporters,
Since expanding our petition to oppose all scheduled Kneecap performances in Canada, including shows in both Vancouver and Toronto, our movement has gained remarkable momentum — now reaching 9,850 signers.
Growing Media Attention
- The Globe and Mail, Paul Waldie, Europe Correspondent, London, May 1, 2025:
“And a petition has been started in Vancouver to cancel the rappers’ two shows at The Vogue theatre in October.” - The Globe and Mail, Brad Wheeler, May 22, 2025:
“A petition was started in Vancouver to call off two Kneecap concerts at the Vogue Theatre in October.” - Honest Reporting Canada, May 6, 2025:
“There has been some notable media attention covering Kneecap’s proposed visit by the Globe and Mail, and a petition signed by close to 4,000 people is circulating online calling on organizers to cancel their show in Vancouver, and this is indeed a good start, and it’s time for the organizers in British Columbia and Ontario to do the right thing and cancel the group’s performances.” - Facts Matter July 22, 2025:
“Thousands sign petition to cancel Kneecap’s Canadian shows.”
Kneecap’s shows have already been cancelled in the UK, Germany and Scotland. Most significantly, the Hungarian government barred Kneecap from entering the country. In the U.S., Kneecap’s work visas were revoked after their sponsor, IAG, withdrew support. The Immigration minister of Canada, Lena Diab won’t say if Canada is considering barring Kneecap or Bob Vylan.
In this country, Grand Chief Harvey Yesno of Eabametoong First Nation has called Kneecap’s presence a “defilement of the land.”
Formal Action Taken
I have now delivered a formal cancellation request letter to: Live Nation Entertainment, MRG Group, Vogue Theatre (Vancouver), History (Toronto)
