Cancel Doctor Who! - One Last Special, Then End It For Its Own Good
The Issue
For its own good, Doctor Who needs to be cancelled.
Every story deserves a good ending. Yet Doctor Who goes on and on with continuous disappointments, never arriving at a conclusion and only ever further diluting the quality of what came before.
'The Reality War' on Saturday (31/05/25) was the final straw: awful CBBC-like acting, writing and production, desecration of the show's history, lore and longstanding characters, and cheap gimmicks bankrupt of ideas that undermine the show.
Doctor Who viewers say "no more."
We propose that the BBC produce one final special for the show to bring the show to a satisfying narrative conclusion, and then end the show for good. Tie off the loose ends, send the Doctor on their merry way, and then put us all out of our misery (both Doctor Who fans who are the only 1-2m people watching anyway, and casual viewers who stopped watching years ago). Why continue to put us through this and waste licence-payers' money whilst at it?
Doctor Who can still make the BBC plenty of money. Just put the last 60 years on repeat on BBC1 and make merchandise off that! For the last 10 years roughly, Doctor Who has proven itself to be worn out and done.
It's time to bring this "long way around" journey to an end, so we can enjoy and remember Doctor Who's glory, rather than watch it increasingly decline and die.
One last special. Give us the story end we deserve. Cancel Doctor Who.
