Cancel Bettina Arndt’s event platforming accused rapist Bruce Lehrmann and other dangerous individuals.

We, at WWYW, are launching this petition to urge change-makers to cancel the Bettina Arndt organised event 'Restoring the Presumption of Innocence.' Bettina Arndt, a victim-blamer and men’s rights activist, dangerously perpetuates falsehoods about a 'fake rape crisis', while platforming victim blaming and false information about sexual violence victims / survivors.

We refuse to let such damaging rhetoric go unchallenged. We will not be complacent. 

One of the main speakers is Bruce Lehrmann, an accused rapist and former Liberal staff member. He has been involved with the Australian courts for a number of sexual violence cases, most notably against Brittany Higgins in 2021. Why are heinous individuals such as Lehrmann still being given a platform? We can no longer continue placing victims/ survivors in harm's way whilst pandering and pleasing perpetrators.

By signing this petition, you join us in sending a clear message to decision-makers - we demand accountability and truthfulness in public discourse. Let's ensure that platforms such as these are not abused and used to spread harmful narratives that undermine the experiences of victims- survivors. 

Arndt has not yet confirmed the venue, only that the location will be Rushcutters Bay. She plans to announce the full program and venue in a month.

We are calling on decision makers in the Rushcutters Bay and surrounding areas. People like Woollahra Municipal Council, Alex Greenwich MP and Allergra Spender MP to put a stop to this event before it causes any further harm or damage to the victim survivor community.
