Many chain pet stores like “pet smart” and “pet co” sell there bettas in pint cups. These cups are FULL of ammonia and other harmful things. On top of that the fish is left to just rot on a shelf as you see the photograph I took from my local pet co and yes that fish in the photograph is ALIVE. This is animal abuse, and this is NOT okay.

Chain pet stores have also RUINED betta genetics BEYOND REPAIR. Most can barely make it a year because they develop so many problems like tumors, sickness’s, etc.

They should be required a MINIMUM of 1-3 gallon tank with heated water and filtration for EACH fish. This has been going on for decades, the abuse of bettas has gotten Out Of Hand. And it’s time we STOP IT.
