Jennifer Summers started this petition to Canadian Tire and

As a woman in the trade industry, I am sick and tired of walking into Marks and other stores associated with trades work wear and having little to no options at all for my size and stature in the work wear industry. The women’s Carhartts are made substandard and fall apart within months and are often not even available.

At one time we barely existed in the industry and although we are still a minority, the sexism and exclusion is still very much real when it comes to work gear. Any woman along with other genders and non binary folks in trades, especially those of us with small statures can attest that is extremely difficult to find proper gear, including steal toed boots. The men have many many options, while the women have very few. I’ve never been to Marks and had my size available, even if they are available, they are not stocked. If I need to special order they make you pay for it up front without being able to even try it on.

I want to see this change, I want to have the same options that men have and I want those clothes to be made with the same integrity and to represent all bodies, all genders, however folks identify. Thanks for reading, please support these necessary changes in the trades industry and sign this petition!
