I am really sorry that I cannot help you with your questions about Indian status. I kindly suggest you contact your closest Friendship Centre or Indigenous Law Office and see if they are able to help you. It may be a good idea for you to understand that through Bill S-3 there will be changes that may mean you are entitled to Indian status registration. But Bill S-3 is currently in the consultation stage. INAC has until July to submit the edited version of the Bill after which the Bill will be discussed in the House of Commons and the Senate. If it passes these stages it will become law and then INAC will have to put in place staff and resources to administrate the amended law and the new applications. It is my position that at this time older files of denial should be re-opened and re-assessed for Indian status eligibility - this is the right and reasonable thing for INAC to do. Keep in mind that all this will take some time.
Here is a link to a blog I did. It may be helpful in guiding your process: http://www.lynngehl.com/black-face-blogging/your-application-for-indian-status-registration-is-your-responsibility
Please note in this blog I use the acronym AANDC today it is INAC. I also discuss the issue of unknown and unstated paternity. This is the very issue I went to court about and won on April 20, 2017. This matter is currently being discussed within the Bill S-3 consultation process. And keep in mind that Canada can appeal the Gehl decision.
