Make puppy mills illegal

Make puppy mills illegal
The Issue
a puppy mill is a place in which dogs are bred for sale, generally in inhumane conditions where the dogs are constantly forced to breed, locked away from any social contact and born with diseases and genetic conditions due to inbreeding as well as malnutrition and poor physical health. These dogs have no names. They have never been loved, petted, or played with. Some have been chained to walls for their whole life, never free from breeding, never getting to go outside. Even if you are not an animal rights activist, you cannot argue that this isn’t disgusting. Anyone who has lived with dogs will know of their kindness, loyalty, and love for everyone around them. Puppy mills are still legal in Canada, and commercial dog breeders are not regulated by the government. This means that we don’t know who is breeding dogs, where they are, and what conditions the dogs are in.
