Lets End the farmgate waste due to Over-Quota Milk. Supply management is the ideal system to prevent a dairy farmer from wasting thousands of litres of milk. With a strategy and some investments. Our sector can have a positive impact on the environment, generate more revenue growth and develop new markets for our great product.

As a proud dairy farmer, for as long as I have been a dairy farmer, the phrase "dumping of milk" has never sat well with me or my own father who dairy farmed before me. Quite often over the years, I would hear from the milk truck drivers that shipments were down, especially at the end of the month. We never knew the volume of milk wasted or what our dairy industry was wasting. In 2023, we need a different approach. Dairy farmers deserve it. Canadians deserve it.

For many reasons in our socio-economic climate this practice is completely unacceptable. This is why we are asking the Dairy Boards across this Country to eliminate the option of milk dumping for its dairy producers. Supply Management is a powerful tool and was created to eliminate waste and currently has the flexibility within the system to do this.
