Mr. Prime Minister
The signatories of this petition and countless other people around the world are following the deplorable events in Iran with anger and tears. The government of the Islamic Republic and its heinous behaviors is a stain on the face of humanity. The people of the world watched the murder of a 22 year old girl , Mahsa Amini , just because a few strands of her hair were out of her scarf, and today they are witnessing the massacre of young people who protested this horrible crime in the streets of Iran. World leaders cannot and should not remain indifferent to these crimes.
On behalf of ourselves and our Iranian friends, we would like to thank you and the noble government of Canada for expressing sympathy with the people of Iran and imposing sanctions against the tyrannical government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
We declare our disgust at the obvious crimes and human right violations committed by the Islamic regime of Iran with shamelessness and cruelty towards Iranian demonstrators.
Despite the severe restrictions that the Islamic regime has imposed on Iranian people’s access to the Internet and communication channels, the world is watching countless videos that show the rampant violence and killing of young Iranians by the security and military forces of the Islamic Republic in the streets.
According to the videos that have been exposed to the eyes of the world from inside Iran, the security and military forces of the Islamic Republic have suppressed the protesters by using various types of firearms and heavy military equipment, and in frequent cases, all international laws and humane principles have been violated by these ruthless forces.
These are only small examples of the brutal and inhuman actions that the Islamic Republic’s security and military forces have carried out against Iranian protesters in recent days :
1. They have been shooting directly at people, especially youths, with firearms.
2. They have used ambulances and fire trucks to move anti-riot forces and arrest the protesters.
3. They have severely beaten young people, especially girls, with batons and other means of oppression.
4. Iran’s police forcefully armed minors and uses them as anti-riot militia.
5. The police and security forces severely beat the elderly.
7. In many cases, they forcibly kidnap the injured from the hospitals and transfer them to the detention center before their treatment.
According to unofficial statistics, more than 80 people have been killed by the security and military forces during this demonstration, and many have been arrested and transferred to an unknown location. Official and accurate statistics of the number of dead and arrested are not available.
We, the signatories of this letter, do not consider the sanction efforts of the Canadian government to support the people of Iran to be sufficient, and by signing this petition, we request you and the Canadian government to take practical and meaningful measures in condemning the crimes of the Islamic Republic of Iran. We strongly request the Canadian government to put the following actions on its agenda and pursue them seriously, urgently and effectively.
Call to action
1.Continued negotiations with Islamic Republic representatives and lobbyist is against the interest if Iranian people as it only strengthens the illegitimate regime’s place in global politics. Support Iranian’s call for the United States of America to stop negotiating the nuclear agreement with the Islamic Republic.
2. According to the numerous available evidences, several affiliates of the Islamic Republic regime, especially those who have a long record of oppressing the people of Iran and looting their property, are now living freely in Canada. With a history of embezzlement of Iranian people’s assets and money laundering, they have imported huge sums of money into Canada through illegal means. We ask the government of Canada and its judicial branches to quickly start an extensive investigation on these individuals and take appropriate action to confiscate their property and deport them from the country.
3. As an effective member of the international community, we ask Canada to take practical measures to pass a strong resolution against the criminal actions of the Islamic Republic in the UN General Assembly. The indifference of the United Nations towards the recent events happening in Iran is not only shameful, but also contrary to the constitution and spirit of this organization as an authority for the protection of human rights around the world.
4. We ask you, as the Prime Minister of Canada, to convince your counterparts in other countries, especially the United States of America, to put all the pillars of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran including regime’s authorities and their affiliates under severe and comprehensive sanctions. The world must prevent this criminal regime from accessing financial resources that are only used in line with their repressive and terrorist actions against the people of Iran and other Middle Eastern countries.
5. The behavior of the government of the Islamic Republic in the past 43 years and especially in recent days does not match any of the criteria of a normal and legitimate government. We ask the government of Canada, along with other countries of the free world, to officially announce the delegitimization of this brutal and autocratic regime and to take immediate action to cut off all relations, whether diplomatic or commercial, with them.
6. Almost 1,000 days have passed since the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) shot down the Ukrainian plane PS752 with two missiles. During this time, the families of the victims of this flight tried in every way to make their voices heard by you and the members of your government. Despite the efforts that have been made, the Canadian government has not been successful in holding the Islamic Republic accountable for this horrible crime. The same evil force that deliberately shot down a passenger plane is now shooting young protestors in the streets of Iran. We repeat the request of the families of the victims of the Ukrainian flight PS752, which is now also the request of most Iranian people: Officially declare the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist group.
7. We request the government of Canada in collaboration with other countries of the free world to facilitate the access of Iranian people to the Internet and social networks in every possible way. We also ask you to put pressure on Meta, the owner of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, to provide fair access to these platforms for the people of Iran and to stop censoring content related to nationwide protests in Iran without reason.
Mr. Prime minister, The signatories of this letter and countless other people around the world are following the deplorable events in Iran with anger and tears. The government of the Islamic Republic and its heinous behaviors is a stain on the face of humanity.
Take action today.
Yours Sincerely
