Dear friends, Hypatia Day petition crossed 650 votes. Now 44 countries are engaged: some 150 voters from Canada are supported by voters from US (110), Argentina (70), UK (40), Greece (30), Romania (25), Uruguay, Germany, Spain, Venezuela, Russia, Austria, Israel, South Africa, Italy, Brazil... As you can see, several friends contributed the petition's text in French, Italian, Spanish, Russian and Greek. The Spanish text (see the attached link) is especially informative. I would love to add several languages more. We still have no signers from China, India, Korea... Great news is that one Canadian official contacted me saying the Hypatia Day petition is known to the Canadian government and they might take a move in the future. This is great. But how quickly? I feel this depends on the number of votes under the petition. Which means we need more voices to be heard. Can we gather 1,000 votes before the coming Hypatia Day - March 20, 2017?
