Necesitamos vuestra ayuda para dar eco a una situación insostenible que tiene una solución sencilla.

Somos una isla pequeña, pero tenemos una cantera de más de 40 niñas y niños qué, cómo nosotros, juegan al Rugby porque disfrutan y encuentran unos valores diferentes. El respeto al árbitro, a sus compañeros y a su rival, el trabajo en equipo y la resiliencia son los ejes de un deporte que cada vez tiene más seguidores y que nos hace personas nobles.

Como jugadores y jugadoras de rugby, nos dirigimos a todos los amantes del deporte y para pedir su ayuda en una cuestión urgente que está afectando al Menorca Rugby Club, así como a otros deportistas que utilizan el Polideportivo Municipal de Maó como lugar de entrenamiento y competición.

El estado de la pista de atletismo y del campo de rugby del club, es lamentable. Presenta numerosos socavones, una pésima iluminación, baches en abundancia. Además, la falta de un jardinero que mantenga el campo en buenas condiciones y un sistema de riego apropiado agrava la situación.

La situación no solo afecta al buen desarrollo de nuestros entrenamientos y partidos, sino que también pone en riesgo nuestra salud y la de otros deportistas que utilizan las instalaciones. El campo de rugby está en muy malas condiciones, lleno de piedras, agujeros y la hierba quemada, lo que ha provocado varias lesiones que han dejado a algunos jugadores del equipo fuera de juego durante largos periodos de tiempo.

Como jugadores de rugby, sabemos que la seguridad en el campo es fundamental para nuestra práctica deportiva. Por lo tanto, es crucial que se tomen medidas urgentes para solucionar las deficiencias en nuestra instalación deportiva. Pedimos su ayuda para hacer un llamado a las autoridades locales a actuar ahora y tomar las medidas necesarias para que el Polideportivo Municipal de Maó sea un lugar seguro y adecuado para el rugby y otros deportes.

We need your assistance in highlighting an unsustainable situation that can be easily resolved.

Our island may be small, but we have a rugby team with over 40 boys and girls who, like us, play rugby because they find different values in the sport. Respect for the referee, teammates, and opponents, teamwork, and resilience are the core principles of a sport that is gaining more followers and helps to shape noble individuals.

As rugby players, we urgently request your help in addressing a critical issue that affects the Menorca Rugby Club and other athletes who use the Maó Municipal Sports Center as a training and competition facility.

The rugby club's track and field, along with its rugby field, is in deplorable condition. The area is filled with numerous potholes, poor lighting, and an abundance of bumps. Moreover, the lack of a gardener to maintain the field and a suitable irrigation system exacerbates the situation.

This issue not only hinders our ability to practice and compete effectively but also jeopardizes our health and the well-being of other athletes who use the facilities. The rugby field is in a dire state, with rocks and holes littering the burnt-out grass, resulting in several injuries that have sidelined some of our players for extended periods of time.

As rugby players, we understand the paramount importance of safety on the field for our athletic endeavors. Therefore, it is imperative that immediate action be taken to address the inadequacies of our sports facility. We appeal to you to join us in urging local authorities to act now and take the necessary measures to make the Maó Municipal Sports Center a safe and suitable place for rugby and other sports.
