Thank you all for supporting this petition! I was going to send out an update earlier today to celebrate reaching the 500 signature milestone, and then we surpassed that goal by another 100! Many of you are neighbors from Mechanicsburg and the surrounding towns—while others are neighbors from around the country and around the world! Thank you for signing and sharing. 

And thanks to you, we may be able to celebrate an even greater milestone! I received word today that the owners of the property plan to change the monument so it no longer honors the Confederacy and Gen. Jenkins! I have yet to be in direct contact with the property owners to confirm this or hear the details of their plan, but I'll consider this good news. I will be sure to send another update when I know more.
