The Issue

Immediate and sweeping reforms are essential to address critical failures in special education, student support, and safety across our school districts. A complete overhaul of leadership is imperative to forge an equitable system that truly serves every student with special needs.

Many students are unjustly denied vital therapeutic services – including speech, occupational, and physical therapy – due to inappropriate qualification barriers. This, alongside a lack of personalized instruction, severely impedes their progress. We demand revised criteria guaranteeing access to all necessary support. Strict accountability and continuous evaluation of special education personnel are also non-negotiable.

Financial transparency is critically absent. We call for an immediate, comprehensive audit of special education funds to ensure every dollar directly benefits students, eliminating current resource discrepancies.

Student safety remains a grave concern, marked by unexplained incidents. To restore confidence and ensure accountability, surveillance cameras must be installed in all classrooms, hallways, and administrative areas district-wide.

These systemic deficiencies demand urgent, concrete action. We expect prompt rectification to uphold every child's right to a safe, supportive, and effective education. Sincerely: Angelica v.
