This is a petition to make Rob Spenser into the first ever homegrown star of Cameo.

What is Cameo?

According to their website:

"Cameo operates the CAMEO® Marketplace — through our website and app — that lets fans book a personalized video shout-out — a CAMEO video — from their favorite talent. Our mission is to create the most personalized and authentic fan experiences in the world."

In essence, it is a wonderful service in which people can order personalized videos from their favorite celebrities. It has created a new means of stars and talent connecting and has changed the gift-giving landscape to allow people to create a personalized experience for their friends and family.

Who is Rob Spenser?

First and foremost, it is important to highlight who Rob Spenser is NOT. He is NOT a celebrity at this point in time. Rob is a 30 something based in Brooklyn, NY who has been involved performing in some shape or form for almost a decade and a half. And while he has amassed a respectable following on social media (over 1,000 on Twitter for example), most of it has come through created friendships and acquaintances through his involvement in various communities and perceived affable personality. He loves nothing more than providing people with joy and often will go out of his way to put a smile on someone else's face.

So Why Rob Spenser for Cameo?

At present, Cameo's business model is reliant on established celebrities to create the content to be purchased and consumed by fans. These celebrities come from various different sources including, but not limited to: TV, Movies, Music, Sports and Politics just to name a few. While there is a wealth of celebrities to choose from, this model still means that Cameo is solely reliant on external sources to create stardom for their celebrities. And as none of these people are inherently tied to Cameo (assuming they're not contractually bound), there remains no need to have loyalty towards this brand. Hence why this petition suggests building a new unique celebrity from the ground up. 

In addition, other major online platforms (Youtube, Instagram, Tiktok, Twitter, etc.) have created their own stars and influencers who have acted as brand ambassadors for the platforms and grown their respective brands on various outside platforms, including...you guessed it! Cameo. Having an in-house celebrity attached to the Cameo brand could help with expansion of recognition to outside platforms. 

Rob Spenser is the ideal candidate for this role for the following reasons.

• First of all, it was his idea.
• Secondly his performance experience means that he has the skills to present his videos clearly and professionally to provide quality interactions with Cameo's clientele.
• Third, he is passionate about bringing positivity to others, which at the core, is essentially Cameo's mission statement.
• Fourth, he has no intention of gaining fame through any other traditional means. He is hoping to exclusively fly the flag for Cameo.
• Fifth, he is willing to work Pro Bono, until he has reached adequate celebrity status and is able to charge a fee. In this time, he is willing to be thrown into BOGO packages for promotional deals.

So please consider signing this petition so that Cameo will consider taking on Rob Spenser as their first ever home grown celebrity.
