🚨CAMBRIDGE IS BEING CHANGED WITHOUT YOU AND IS AT BREAKING POINT - HAVE YOUR SAY 🚨
The Issue
Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP), Cambridgeshire County Council, Cambridge City Council
South Cambridgeshire District Council
Born in Cambridge and having lived here all my life, I’ve watched our city change over the years — and many residents now feel those changes are making Cambridge harder to move around, harder to access, and in some cases, less welcoming than it once was.
This petition calls for a full independent review of the Greater Cambridge Partnership’s transport policies and their real-world impact on our city.
This is not just about traffic. It’s about how Cambridge works for everyone who lives, works in, and visits the city.
Many people feel increasing congestion, more road closures, and ongoing changes to the road network are affecting:
• Independent businesses and trade in the city centre
• Access to shopping and essential services
• Elderly and less mobile residents
• Carers, workers, and families who rely on vehicles
• The overall flow and accessibility of the city
Cambridge is not London. We do not have an Underground system, and many residents still depend on cars and vans for work, caring responsibilities, shopping, healthcare, and daily life.
This petition is not against progress. It is a call for balance, common sense, and proper scrutiny of how current and future transport schemes are affecting the people of Cambridge.
If you feel Cambridge is becoming harder to access, harder to navigate, and less practical for everyday life, please consider signing and sharing this petition.
Together, we can show that local voices deserve to be heard and that transport planning should work for everyone.
