20 years ago my grandfather, a man proud of his Native American heritage, encouraged CCS to keep the Indian mascot when in jeopardy, he said "the mascot is a sign of honor, courage and bravery". I truly believe the Indians mascot is a beacon of strength for our community. With the idea of "cancel culture" in today's society, there is no better time to hold strong to who we are. Let's keep the Indians mascot at CCS, a symbol of strength and identity for the students and community during this time of uncertainty, loss and change.
