Recently the Roosevelt Recreation Center in Fairfield has begun enforcing a rule that all female patrons are not allowed to wear sports bras without a cover up while using their facility.

This evening when I went into the Roosevelt Recreation Center wearing a sports bra and leggings that covered my belly button, I was told by two male staff  members that next time I would need to cover up due to complaints they have had from other patrons in the past. When I asked why this was a rule, I was told "it has just been too much of a problem in the past". 

I understand the position that the staff at Roosevelt Rec Center must be in. Handling complaints from patrons is terrible. However, I have spoken to several women who have recently become physically uncomfortable working out in the Center, especially in the August heat! Unlike men we do not have the option to wear nothing but a loose top; its hot in a tight spandex bra! 

I am calling for a full withdrawal of their new rule, and for women to be allowed comfortable, appropriate sportswear in the Center.
