Allow KSD Students to Have a Graduation Ceremony with ALL SENIORS! (ANYONE CAN SIGN/SHARE)

The Issue

The Kent School District has decided that students won't be able to graduate with all of their peers, while the rest of the neighboring districts will allow such a graduation to take place. These graduation ceremonies are not held without regard to COVID-19 and the proper safety and health guidelines for Washington State, and proper measures have been put in place. There is no excuse for Kent School District to deprive their students of such an event.

I am fortunate enough to be able to walk into Auburn Memorial Stadium and have an in person ceremony with all of my peers and friends. I am fortunate enough to have my fellow peers and students around me as we all graduate, and to celebrate the successes WE all had. I get to walk on stage and look all of my friends in the eye, I get to see them all cry, laugh, and cheer. All Together. Kent School District students don't get to have that.

I'm aware some schools will not even host any type of in person event. However, Washington State and its school districts have been handling COVID-19 appropriately, and it is unfair to the students of Kent School District to watch as everyone EXCEPT them get to walk up onto that stage WITH their friends, and celebrate the success they all have together.

PLEASE, share this to anyone around you. Share this to Kent School District students. Share this to teachers, principals, anyone! Let's help our friends and peers in the Kent School District get what they want and deserve!
