Written petition for Special Meeting to take a vote on opening pool with no restrictions

The Issue

Request for Special Meeting to Address Pool and Pavilion Reopening Restrictions & Take a Majority Vote Amongst the Members.

UNDER ARTICLE 2 of the Bylaws that Govern the Community of the Calumet West Homeowners Association, Titled Meetings of Members, Section 2, Special Meetings: Special meetings of the members may be called for any purpose at any time by the President, the Secretary or by request of any two or more Board members, or upon written petition of twenty five (25%) percent of the members and the Owners of Lots. The Secretary shall then verify that the required number of members have joined the petition and shall submit all proper petitions to the Association's President. The President shall then promptly call a special meeting for the purpose stated in the petition, and the Secretary shall send notice of the meeting in accordance with these Bylaws.

 The purpose of this special meeting is to address the following concerns:

1. Review accurate instructions on the voting process for members per the Bylaws. 

UNDER ARTICLE 1 of the Bylaws that Govern the Community of the Calumet West Homeowners Association, Titled General, Section 6, Voting: Except as set forth in the Declaration, each Permanent Member Lot and Associate Member Lot shall be entitled to one equally weighed vote, which vote may be cast by the Owner, the Owner's spouse, or by a lawful proxy. 

2. Take a majority vote amongst those present at the meeting to open the pool and pavilion  with no restrictions. 

UNDER ARTICLE 1 of the Bylaws that Govern the Community of the Calumet West Homeowners Association, Titled General, Section 7, Majority: As used in these Bylaws, the term "majority" shall mean those votes, Members, or other group as the context may indicate totaling more than fifty (50%) percent of the total number of eligible votes. Members, or other group, respectively. Unless otherwise specifically stated, the words "majority vote" means more than fifty (50%) percent of those voting in person or by proxy. Except as otherwise specifically provided in the Declaration or these Bylaws, all decisions shall be by majority vote.

We need your vote to achieve the 25% of owners to call this special meeting. Per bylaws, only one vote per household.

When special meeting is called, 50% majority vote needed at the meeting to open the pool and pavilion with no restrictions.
