How do constituents in Vancouver-Quilchena feel about MLA Brodie's behaviour and priorities? We are in the riding, and we want to share information that may be surprising, given the loud voices online from outside the riding supporting OneBC.

Over the past 8 months, we have connected with hundreds of our neighbours. People out doing errands, exercising along the greenway, and waiting for the bus.

• Most of the people who engage with us are upset about her behaviour. Specifically, people are angry because:
  • She has no office and holds no public events in the riding.
  • She does not respond meaningfully to constituent phone calls or emails.
  • When she changed parties, she received a large raise (despite having a personal net worth of over $50M) and additional funds for her new party, and used these public funds to make a racist documentary and travel around BC bullying Indigenous people.
  • In addition to her staggeringly racist comments about Indigenous peoples, she holds other extreme positions on social issues, including open attacks on immigrants and 2SLGBT+ individuals. This is a diverse riding, and these positions are not appreciated.
• We can count on a single hand the number of people who have been unsupportive of MLA Brodie resigning or being recalled. And none of these people had any type of coherent argument to offer.
• Some people are neutral or don't know what's going on. This needs to change.
• There is massive growing momentum in the local movement to ask her to resign or be recalled. 

We don't want to give them oxygen, but we want to mention that there is rampant brigading happening online, especially in conversations about supporting Residential School Survivors. This is when people band together to promote a negative message and make it look a lot more popular than it actually is. From what we can tell, few to none of the people doing this actually live here, in Vancouver-Quilchena. So if you see them on Facebook, on X, on Reddit, talking about how MLA Brodie is right and the best thing to ever happen to BC- feel free to ignore them.

Their opinions don't matter. When it comes to determining whether MLA Brodie continues in her job (or not), ONLY people in this riding can vote.

Let us be clear.

We are doing this because we respect, support, and affirm Survivors and their loved ones. And we believe our neighbours do too. 

We are doing this because we reject the division and hate being spread by MLA Brodie under the guise of "freedom of speech." It hurts everyone, and it needs to stop.
