WHO IS IMPACTED?
Right now, over two million Palestinians in Gaza are being bombed, starved, and systematically denied access to food, water, and medicine. More than half of them are children. Entire neighbourhoods have been levelled. Hospitals, aid workers, and refugee camps have all been deliberately targeted. This is not an abstract crisis—this is mass suffering, witnessed in real-time. Families are not dying because of war. They are being killed because the world is allowing it.
WHAT IS AT STAKE?
If our governments stay silent, we are complicit. Australia and Canada claim to uphold international law, human rights, and the value of every child’s life. Yet our leaders have failed to clearly condemn the ongoing atrocities in Gaza. Every day that passes without decisive moral action is another day children are buried under rubble or die of thirst while aid trucks are blocked at the border. If we truly believe in compassion, peace, and justice—then this is the moment to prove it.
Why is now the time to act?
We can’t wait. The situation is deteriorating every hour. This is a humanitarian catastrophe—and a moral one. We are calling on Prime Ministers Albanese and Carney to immediately and publicly demand:
- An end to all military operations against Palestinian civilians
- The full and unconditional opening of Gaza’s borders to humanitarian aid
- A permanent ceasefire, with international oversight
There is no excuse left.
We will not forget where our leaders stood in this moment.
With love.

[About the Blu Collective:
This petition was created by The Blu Collective—a loosely organised, deeply committed group of women from across the Commonwealth who are feral in our love and obstinate in our defence of human rights.
We are writers, mothers, analysts, artists, and agitators.
We are tired of watching leaders speak in platitudes while children are buried in rubble.
We believe the protection of women and children is not a political stance—it’s a moral obligation.
And we will not be silent.]
