A Bill for everyone. A table for those already waiting.

This petition is for a #Mediation Bill that can assist EVERYONE who needs a lawful way to resolve a contentious issue without a ruinous trial.

That includes families, small businesses, neighbours, employees - and it includes 3.5 million women born in the 1950s whose State Pension age was raised from 60 toward 66. Their evidence has been before Parliament since at least 2016, when the late Frank Field, then Chair of the Work and Pensions Committee, said they had got “a raw deal,” that it was “too late for them to work harder, save more,” and that many had been “grotesquely disadvantaged.” The file did not vanish. It was processed into a residue. #Mediation with the people who carry that file is still not on a date. The Civil Procedure Rules already point toward ADR.   

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     A Bill would put statutory muscle behind that direction for all future cases. It does not replace what can be done this month: inclusive #mediation, with those who have a legitimate interest at the table.

*** Write to your MP. Ask them to support a UK #Mediation Bill.

*** In the same letter, ask: Will the Government convene inclusive #mediation now, and give a date?
