Dear VC-PUCC Friends and Supporters: VENICE SIGN-OFFS (VSO) are a BIG PART of the PROBLEM in Venice, along with MANSIONIZATION and SMALL LOT SUBDIVISIONS! VSOs are used by Los Angeles City Planning to literally 'sign-off' on planning projects which, otherwise, would have to go through a series of public hearings at which the developer must reveal their project plans. At the January 2016 VNC LUPC meeting, members voted to STOP VSOs -- which are destroying Venice -- and require that the developers go through the proper public channels to vet their project. We've just heard that the Venice Chamber of Commerce (VCC) OPPOSES the VNC LUPC MOTION to STOP VENICE SIGN OFFs and have written a letter requesting that the motion be rejected: "The Venice Chamber of Commerce respectfully requests that the Venice Neighborhood Council reject the motion to terminate the Venice Sign Off (VSO)" PLEASE SHOW UP TO MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD and tell VNC that VSOs ARE DESTROYING VENICE and we need them to STOP NOW. Or, if you can't make it, please send an email to the VNC Board IN SUPPORT OF THE MOTION TO TERMINATE VENICE SIGN OFFS. Thank you!
