Call to hold fentanyl traffickers accountable

Call to hold fentanyl traffickers accountable
The Issue
Petition: Hold Fentanyl Traffickers Accountable with Life Sentences
To: [Prime Minister of Canada, Minister of Justice, Members of Parliament]
Fentanyl is killing thousands of Canadians each year. Just 2 milligrams—an amount smaller than a grain of salt—can be fatal. Drug traffickers who knowingly distribute this deadly substance are fueling the overdose crisis, destroying families, and endangering entire communities.
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has proposed mandatory life sentences for those convicted of trafficking, producing, or exporting more than 40 milligrams of fentanyl. Quebec Premier François Legault has also taken a stand, calling for stronger penalties for fentanyl traffickers. It’s time for our federal and provincial governments to act decisively.
We demand that the Government of Canada implement life sentences for fentanyl traffickers, ensuring that those who profit from the suffering of Canadians face the maximum consequences.
Why this matters:
Fentanyl is responsible for an overwhelming number of opioid-related deaths in Canada.
Current penalties do not reflect the severity of the crisis.
Traffickers knowingly distribute a drug that is as lethal as poison.
We urge all Canadians to sign this petition and call on our elected officials to enact tougher sentencing laws. Together, we can protect our communities and prevent further loss of life.
This deadly drug has poisoned too many of our loved ones, my own daughter included, and we are at a crisis level. We absolutely have to stop this at government levels and hold traffickers responsible! Please sign and share this petition to make your voice heard.
