Inspired by Greta Thunberg’s courage and example, an appeal to all citizens to convene a European Constituent Assembly and build together a society founded on responsibility for nature, people and democracy, while inviting Greta to lend her voice to this process.

Wildfires are destroying entire ecosystems. Floods are sweeping away homes and lives. Inequality is growing while our democracies are becoming increasingly fragile. 

We have reached a critical point in our history: the model on which we have built our way of life is no longer sustainable.

We need a radical change of direction, one that puts care for people, nature and democracy at the centre.

That is why we are calling for the creation of the Estates General of Care: a large-scale European participatory process bringing together citizens, young people, scientists, activists, organizations and institutions to imagine and build a new Europe.

And we are asking Greta Thunberg to join forces and adhere to this process

Greta succeeded in turning the voice of one young woman into a global movement by having the courage to ask the world a radical question.

Today, that same energy could help open a new chapter: bringing together people across Europe and beyond with the aim to build a society based on care and the common good.

We are launching a bottom-up constituent process capable of turning citizens’ needs, ideas and aspirations into concrete proposals for the future.

We will deliver the signatures collected through this petition directly to Greta Thunberg and her team, along with a formal invitation to strengthen this process.

Today, it is no longer enough to defend what we already have. We need to imagine and build what does not yet exist.

Sign this appeal for a new Europe that puts care at its centre, and share it. The more of us  the stronger the message we can send to Greta. 

This appeal comes from the same idea that inspired Berardo Carboni’s film Greta e le favole vere: the choice not to remain a passive observer. In the film, a young girl makes that choice by setting a bear free. We can make ours by signing this appeal, because even a small act, when multiplied by thousands of people, can help change the course of events.

Ispirato dal coraggio e dall'esempio di Greta Thunberg, un appello a tutti i cittadini per convocare un'Assemblea Costituente Europea e costruire insieme una società fondata sulla responsabilità verso la natura, le persone e la democrazia, invitando al contempo Greta a prestare la propria voce a questo processo.

Incendi che distruggono interi ecosistemi. Alluvioni che spazzano via case e vite. Le disuguaglianze crescono mentre le nostre democrazie diventano sempre più fragili.

Siamo arrivati a un punto critico della nostra storia: il modello su cui abbiamo costruito il nostro modo di vivere non è più sostenibile.

Serve un cambiamento radicale di direzione, che metta al centro la cura delle persone, della natura e della democrazia.

Per questo chiediamo la creazione degli Stati Generali della Cura: un grande processo partecipativo europeo che metta insieme cittadini, giovani, scienziati, attivisti, organizzazioni e istituzioni per immaginare e costruire una nuova Europa.

E chiediamo a Greta Thunberg di unire le forze e aderire a questo processo.

Greta è riuscita a trasformare la voce di una giovane donna in un movimento globale, avendo il coraggio di porre al mondo una domanda radicale.

Oggi, quella stessa energia potrebbe aiutare ad aprire un nuovo capitolo: riunire persone in tutta Europa e oltre, con l'obiettivo di costruire una società fondata sulla cura e sul bene comune.

Stiamo lanciando un processo costituente dal basso, capace di trasformare i bisogni, le idee e le aspirazioni dei cittadini in proposte concrete per il futuro.

Consegneremo le firme raccolte attraverso questa petizione direttamente a Greta Thunberg e al suo team, insieme a un invito formale a rafforzare questo processo.

Oggi non basta più difendere ciò che già abbiamo. Dobbiamo immaginare e costruire ciò che ancora non esiste.

Firma questo appello per una nuova Europa che metta la cura al centro, e condividilo. Più saremo, più forte sarà il messaggio che potremo mandare a Greta.

Questo appello nasce dalla stessa idea che ha ispirato il film di Berardo Carboni Greta e le favole vere: la scelta di non restare un'osservatrice passiva. Nel film, una ragazza compie questa scelta liberando un orso. Possiamo fare la nostra firmando questo appello, perché anche un piccolo gesto, moltiplicato per migliaia di persone, può contribuire a cambiare il corso degli eventi.
